Test with certainty knowing your CeliacDx report will give a definitive diagnosis. CeliacDx uses criteria recognized by experts to render a celiac disease diagnosis for every patient.

How Does CeliacDx Work?

Most individuals with unresolved celiac disease diagnosis have previously had antibody and/or small bowel biopsy testing but no genetic testing.

CeliacDx uses genetic testing as a tie-breaker to render a definitive celiac disease diagnosis. Just fill out the symptoms questionnaire and send us any previous laboratory testing reports along with an at-home collected cheek sample. Our CeliacDx pathologists will do the rest!

Why Is Genetics A Tie-Breaker Test?

The underlying cause of celiac disease is rooted in one’s genetic makeup. In fact celiac disease is the most common genetically  based (and underdiagnosed) autoimmune disease in the United States. Without the presence of HLA-DQ2 and/or HLA-DQ8 celiac genes, an individual cannot develop the condition. However, having the relevant genes only indicates a susceptibility for developing celiac disease not a diagnosis. Definitive diagnosis is based on the four out of five rule which considers symptoms, diet, and test results to confirm the presence of celiac disease.

Celiac Disease Is Treatable With An Accurate Diagnosis And Gluten-Free Diet.

According to the celiac disease Foundation an accurate celiac disease diagnosis is delayed on average by 6 to 10 years. Delayed diagnosis often leads to worsening conditions. CeliacDx can help significantly reduce the time to diagnosis by combining the three tests into a Gold Standard Report designed to give a positive or negative diagnosis for every patient.

Case Example

For a patient with celiac disease symptoms, positive family history, negative antibody test results and positive biopsy, use CeliacDx for resolution of positive versus negative celiac disease diagnosis.

  • Collect cheek swab samples and send to the lab along with previous antibody and biopsy test results using the CeliacDx kit box and pre-paid mailing label.
  • The laboratory will perform HLA-DQ2/DQ8 genetic testing.
  • Our pathologists will interpret all test results (antibodies, biopsy, genetics) in the context of the patient’s reported symptoms, dietary gluten, and family history. They will then issue a positive or negative comprehensive report for celiac disease
